Years 1 to 3
Fundamental knowledge, methodologies and techniques of design
The first three years of the industrial design programme are dedicated to acquiring all the fundamentals of neo-industrial design (knowledge, methods, tools and practices).
An intensive project-based teaching approach is used (11 projects).
Two internships are completed in the first year (work placement) and second year (design placement).
The first semester of the third year must be spent abroad.
Years 4 to 5
Deepening of the designer's knowledge and understanding
of the industry
The last two years of the industrial design programme focus on knowledge related to the functioning of 21st-century industries.
The aim is to prepare you, as a designer, to understand the world of industry and find your place in it, so that you can claim and take on positions of responsibility in these organisations by giving you the codes, knowledge and methods to do so.
The last two years are completed on a work-study basis.
Project-based teaching
15 projects per student during the 5-year course,
always with an industrial partner!
Throughout your five years of study, you will participate in 15 real-world design projects thanks to our ecosystem, which brings together large international companies, mid-sized companies, SMEs, start-ups, research centres, competitiveness clusters, and more.
In addition to providing internship and work-study opportunities, the partners in our rich ecosystem offer you concrete projects on which to hone your skills.
We work with them to draw up specifications that guarantee non-competition with professionals in the sector and provide the educational input necessary for your studies.

An internationally open programme
In order to prepare you both to understand cultural diversity and to immerse yourself in it, you will spend the second semester of your third year abroad:
Either on an academic exchange programme
Or on an internship
Or on a study trip
2 years of work-study programme
In order to quickly expose you to the reality of working in human organisations, the fourth and fifth years are spent alternating between study and work placements in companies.
The UPHF has its own vocational training and work-study centre through which such tripartite commitments can be made.
During these periods, companies cover the cost of your design training and also pay you a salary, which significantly reduces the total cost of your education.
